This program is for individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree with content courses in a certifiable content area who wish to earn their secondary teaching certificate. The subject area(s) in which you are eligible for certification will depend on the previous coursework you have completed as a part of your bachelor’s degree.
What You Learn
Students who complete this program can earn their Nebraska Teaching Certificate with one or more of the following endorsements: Biology, Chemistry, English Language Arts, Physics, Science, History, Geography, Math, Psychology, Religious Education, Secondary English, and Social Science. Additional coursework in specific content area may be required. A content review will be required to determine eligibility
How You Learn
This is an online cohort. You will check in online to complete assignments and participate in online discussions and group activities. You will finish one 3 credit course every 8 weeks.
Career Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, students will earn their M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction w/ an initial teaching certification in the chosen certifiable subject area. A passing score on the appropriate Praxis exam(s) will be required to earn your initial teaching certification through Nebraska’s Department of Education.
