The Master of Arts in Education, Arts Integration Concentration focuses on the application of multiple intelligences theory and the arts in traditional and inclusive classrooms as a means to engage students. Candidates will learn to differentiate instruction and assessments through the lens of multiple intelligences theory and application of the arts.
This program focuses on the theory and practice of addressing the needs of an increasingly diverse population of learners in our schools. Particular attention is given to students at high risk for educational difficulty and to equity issues.
In today’s classrooms, teachers must effectively educate a wide variety of diverse learners, including students with vastly different behavioral challenges. A focus of this program will be understanding the impact of positive relationships with students and how those relationships impact behavior.
This program is for experienced teachers who have earned a Master’s Degree, and wish to obtain the New York State School Building Leader (SBL) certification. Candidates must hold three years of teaching experience.
This program is for experienced teachers who have earned a Master’s Degree, and wish to obtain the New York State School District Leader (SDL) certification. Candidates must hold a minimum of three years full-time teaching or pupil personnel services experience in an N-12 setting.
