This program is for Middle Grades and Secondary Mathematics certified teachers with a desire to become leaders and mentors who are critical thinkers and reflective decision-makers in their schools. Teachers who hold a professional certificate in another content area but have an interest in an advanced degree in Middle Grades or Secondary Mathematics MUST pass the GACE prior to graduating from the Thomas University program to be eligible for a certificate upgrade. Additionally, they will be required to sign the Out of Field Certification form.
This program is for Middle Grades Language Arts certified teachers with a desire to become leaders and mentors who are critical thinkers and reflective decision-makers in their schools. Teachers who hold a professional certificate in another content area but have an interest in an advanced degree in Middle Grades Language Arts would need to do the following prior to enrolling in the program: Pass the GACE in Middle Grades Language Arts and then add that certification area to his/her certificate. Additionally, they will be required to sign the Out of Field Certification form.

The Master of Arts in teaching (M.A.T.) degree with Secondary Education (grade 9-12) concentration is a certification program designed to prepare college graduates who wish to enter the teaching profession but who have not had adequate preparation for teaching.
This program is for teachers who wish to earn their initial certification to teach students with disabilities in the 7-12 grade level.
This program is for teachers who hold their initial certification in Teaching Students with Disabilities 7-12 who wish to advance to professional certification.
