Helpful, Supportive Advisors and Faculty
If you are considering attending Point Park University, know that the advisors, teachers, and staff will be with you every step of the way. Initially, this was a huge concern for me because I knew that I would be completing my program online, and I wondered how often I would hear from my advisor. Would I even feel like I was really a Point Park University student? The answer was YES! From the first moment I sent in my application, and even as an alumnus, I have felt like I was truly a part of the university.
Upon applying, I was contacted by the Graduate Information Office. They kept me up to date on the status of my application and eventually welcomed me into my program. Eventually, I worked with a Student Services Coordinator who was my contact for any questions or concerns throughout my program. They also checked in with me periodically to make sure that my courses were going well and that I did not have any needs. In addition, I had the opportunity to work with wonderful individuals who assisted me with rolling over credits from a previous program which made the process uncomplicated.
Throughout my educational journey, the professors and staff at Point Park University were always there when I needed them. They were quick to reply to emails or even conference with me over the phone when I had questions regarding a class, and they understood the balance of working and taking classes. They even responded to concerns that were sent in the evenings and on weekends as well as during the week. In addition, Point Park staff never hesitated to answer my questions regarding certification, testing, and even course reimbursement. They always went above and beyond to ensure that I had the best experience possible and that I was important even though I was not physically on campus.
