What You Learn
The student will take a rigorous and robust sequence of courses, developed and taught by experienced instructors and designed to fully equip the student to facilitate as well as lead a class or an entire program in the instruction of the exceptional child. All aspects of exceptionality as well as the latest developments in Special Education Law and technology will be explored.
How You Learn
On-Ground: This is a cohort program. You will take one course at a time, attending class one night a week from 5:00 to 9:00pm. Every semester you will complete two 8-week courses. Following this schedule you will finish the program in six semesters. You will complete an action research report in lieu of a thesis.
Online: This is an online cohort. Face-to-face meetings are not required. Every semester, you will complete two 8-week courses. Following this schedule, you will finish the program in six semesters. You will complete an action research report in lieu of a thesis.
Upon completion of the program, students will earn a Master of Education degree in Special Education. The program will also fully prepare the student to take the exam for Special Education Certification in the state of Texas.
