Once your seat has been reserved, follow the remaining steps to complete your admissions file:
Submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended (regardless of whether or not a degree was earned). To have your transcripts requested by Averett University on your behalf, please fill out and submit the Transcript Request Form electronically.

Copy of your valid VA Instructional Certificate
The Graduate Information Office will obtain a copy of your teaching certificate online at the VDOE website as long as it is in the state’s database. If we have any difficulties locating your teaching certificate, we will contact you. Click the button to upload a copy of your certificate.
Copy of Driver's License or Government Issued ID
To ensure your personal security, please submit a copy of a valid driver’s license or Government Issued ID using our online system.
$50 - Tuition Deposit
Submit your tuition deposit online through our secure payment center. Complete all required fields and choose the drop down option, Non-Traditional Enrollment Deposit $50.00 for Select a Deposit Type.
Students in the Special Education Licensure Track:
To comply with CAEP accreditation, candidates must attempt and report official scores for the Virginia Communication and Literacy Assessment (VCLA) and Math Praxis (5733) to the Graduate Admissions Department. Averett may accept you into the program on a probationary basis if you submit proof you have scheduled these exams prior to starting class. Students without passing scores may be accepted on a four-course monitor. Prior to your last semester, you must submit a copy of your Reading for Virginia Educators (5306) scores. Your scores will be evaluated and a minimum passing score is required.
Students in the Reading Specialist Track:
Evidence of passing scores for the Virginia Communication and Literacy Assessment are required for admission. Prior to your last semester, you must submit a copy of your Reading for Virginia Educators (5304) scores. Your scores will be evaluated and a minimum passing score is required.
Financial Aid and Payment Options
Determine how you plan to pay for the program: financial aid or other payment options.
If using financial aid, complete the FAFSA online. It is in your best interest to complete the financial aid process as early as possible.
